Mercedes Rocked by Major Concern After Shock Retirement at Monaco F1 GP — Former Star Hamilton Reacts

Mercedes Rocked by Major Concern After Lewis Hamilton’s Shock Retirement at Monaco F1 GP

Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team was dealt a significant blow at the Monaco Grand Prix after Lewis Hamilton was forced to retire unexpectedly, raising major concerns about the team’s reliability and competitiveness in the 2025 season.

Hamilton, a seven-time world champion and Monaco specialist, had been running a strong race on the challenging street circuit when a sudden mechanical failure ended his campaign prematurely. The unexpected retirement stunned fans and left Mercedes scrambling for answers.

“This one hurts,” Hamilton said after the race. “Monaco is a place where precision and reliability are everything. We had pace, we had strategy, but something went wrong, and we need to understand why.”

Team Principal Toto Wolff echoed Hamilton’s frustration, calling the retirement “unacceptable” and vowing a full investigation. “We’re letting Lewis down, and that’s not the standard we hold ourselves to. We must get to the bottom of this before Canada.”

The Monaco GP result further complicates Mercedes’ already difficult season. With rival teams like Red Bull, Ferrari, and McLaren pulling ahead, Hamilton’s retirement not only cost vital championship points but also exposed deeper issues within the car’s reliability systems.

As Hamilton continues to chase his elusive eighth world title, the team faces mounting pressure to deliver a car capable of fighting at the front. With the Canadian Grand Prix just around the corner, Mercedes has limited time to regroup and find solutions.

The F1 world now watches closely: can Mercedes bounce back, or is Hamilton in for another year of frustration
