yet though the summer transfer window hasn’t yet officially opened for business for more than three weeks, Milan has been one of the busiest teams in Serie A thus far and most active of the “Seven Sisters.”

The idea was thrown into disfavor when Paolo Maldini and his right-hand man Ricky Massara were stripped of their technical and sporting director responsibilities.

The causes for the rift between Maldini and RedBird Capital were discussed throughout the ensuing period of uncertainty, but in the interim, CEO Giorgio Furlani and top scout Geoffrey Moncada went to work.

Their first significant choice was to approve Sandro Tonali’s club-record transfer to Newcastle United, which, just as the dust was beginning to settle, sparked another tremendous uproar.

They had to start working and spending the money ever since. Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Christian Pulisic joined from Chelsea, Marco Sportiello and Luka Romero arrived on free transfers, and Tijjani Reijnders will have a medical tomorrow before making his move.

According to dependable MilanNews, Milan sold Tonali to Newcastle for a total of €80 million, including bonuses. Adding in the other additions, that brings the total amount spent this summer to almost €60 million.

The amount paid for Loftus-Cheek, Pulisic, and Reijnders is arguably the most intriguing aspect, though. The former cost €16 million plus bonuses totaling €4 million, the USA winger cost €20 million plus bonuses, and the Dutchman paid the same.

We might conclude from this that Milan is once again becoming a “sweet”
