JUST NOEW: It has happen again as patriots have re-signed their…….
In light of the Patriots’ 2-6 record and their current AFC cellar position, Bill Belichick and company may be facing a sell-off in the lead-up to Tuesday’s NFL trade deadline.
Although the Patriots may decide to focus on the future rather than trade for a high selection pick, players like Josh Uche, Ezekiel Elliott, and other pending free agents may be dealt.
However, is Mac Jones going to be a part of New England’s sell-off before the deadline of Tuesday at 4 p.m.?
Inquiries concerning this hypothetical situation were posed to ESPN’s NFL insider Adam Schefter on Monday during his weekly visit on “The Pat McAfee Show.”
Mac Jones seems intriguing, but that’s just New England trying to make the most of their season. The Patriots haven’t changed their quarterback because, among other reasons, they don’t currently feel like they have another option, according to Schefter. That’s checking out at less than halfway in the season, which seems a little unusual to me when they like Mac Jones and they don’t have another man. So, if you’re trading away Mac Jones in a season that’s gone south anyway, OK.
With nine touchdowns and eight interceptions in his third season in Foxborough, Jones’ performance has been anything but spectacular. However, with other QB1s in the NFL suffering from injuries, Jones might be a good option.
