Rob Page, the manager of Wales, has backed Danny Ward and laid the responsibility for the out-of-favour Leicester goalkeeper’s lack of movement during the January transfer window on “politics.”

The top goalie in Wales, Ward, hasn’t appeared on the Leicester field in more than a year and is currently the team’s third choice goalkeeper as they aim to promote from the Championship.

Under Enzo Maresca, Ward has not appeared on the Leicester bench very often this season. Mads Hermansen and Jakub Stolarczyk are Mads’ and Jakub’s first choices, respectively.

He has participated in a few under-23 matches, according to Page. “He said he would do that, and I believe he has played three or four games.

We are aware that it’s not the level, but at least he tried to go play games.

“We’ve done this before, so I’m just going to concentrate on the good things.

“The majority of our team is playing football and doing well, which is a positive.”
