After a bright start to the season, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp could have another Robert Lewandowski at his disposal.

During their time together at Borussia Dortmund, Robert Lewandowski was transformed into a goal-scoring machine by Jurgen Klopp. Given that the Liverpool manager is “afraid” of Darwin Nunez’s potential, he could be set to do the same with the Uruguayan.

Between 2010 and 2014, Lewandowski worked with Klopp at Dortmund for four years. In his 43 appearances during his debut season in German football, the Pole managed just nine goals.

Yet he scored 94 runs in the next three seasons, which earned him a transfer to Bayern Munich and made him one of the most successful No. 9s in recent memory in Europe. Additionally, Klopp will be hoping Nunez takes the same route as Lewandowski.

After arriving to Anfield in the summer of 2022 from Benfica, perhaps setting a club record, he scored 15 goals in his rookie season. Nunez was in and out of the side, frequently having to make do with a wing position.

However, in his 14 games this season, he has already scored seven goals while playing as a center striker. Nunez had a challenging start to his time in England, according to Klopp, but he has already shown tremendous progress this season.
