Liverpool is still trying to get a “very talented” player.

Since the summer, the Reds have been seen as possible bidders for Inacio. But according to sources from Spain yesterday, Real Madrid is now the front-runner to sign the 22-year-old.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano emphasized yesterday night on his YouTube channel that Inacio is still in the running for the race.

The transfer analyst states, “At this time, from what I’ve been told, Real Madrid has not agreed to anything with Sporting for Goncalo Inacio.”

At this point, there isn’t even a formal negotiation or agreement. This rumor most likely originates from Real Madrid scouts, who are constantly on the lookout for teams, players, and abilities.

“At this point, everything quiet and it’s just regular scouting for a very talented player; nothing is done or guaranteed for the January window.”

“Recall what I told you about Goncalo Inacio a month ago? He has been on the wish list of several English teams for a while, including Newcastle, Liverpool, and Manchester United, who are now looking into the player’s circumstances.

“Right now, there is only reconnaissance; there is nothing substantial. The €60 million (£52 million) release clause is what’s genuine. If we find out more information on it, we’ll let you know.

Liverpool gave hope to Inacio
Good news for Liverpool on this front. Some people could have quickly given up on challenging Madrid for another player after reading yesterday’s reports from Spain.

Thankfully, though, it appears that Real’s interest is not quite as strong as previously stated. All of the English teams, including the Reds, that Romano cites still have chance.

It is likely true, though, that Liverpool won’t be able to rally if Madrid decides to mobilize and pursue Inacio in January.

The arrival of Jarell Quansah has reduced the need for urgent center-back cover, even if they could still need to recruit someone in the summer. Introducing another fresh face at this juncture would be detrimental to the 20-year-old

At just 22 years old, Inacio has the potential to obstruct the route that has been cleared for Quansah. That would be unnecessary if Liverpool really consider their academy graduate to be a long-term option.

It would be more wiser to hold off on making a choice until the summer and watch how Jarell progresses for the remainder of the season.

The Reds will probably try to get Inacio if he is still available at that point.

By then, there’s a good probability the Portugal international will have left the market. But based on Romano’s post, it doesn’t appear like anything will happen soon. Race is still a major issue.
