Liverpool on a verge of breaking their transfer record for a star.
Liverpool is prepared to break their transfer record after receiving the player’s approval for a €90 million deal.
Club captain Virgil van Dijk, who joined Liverpool from Southampton in January 2018 for almost £75 million, continues to be the Reds’ most expensive signing. When he transferred from Benfica in the summer of 2022, Darwin Nunez cost a little less.
However, if rumors are to be believed, Jurgen Klopp was ready to approve a record acquisition twice this year alone: first, when Jude Bellingham was wanted and looked to cost nine figures, and secondly, when the Merseysiders reached an agreement with Brighton for Moises Caicedo that was worth £111 million.
In the event that Liverpool submits a proposal for the superstar speedster, Leroy Sane, Bayern Munich is reportedly willing to sell for £80 million, according to the German publication BILD.
Sane is viewed as the ideal alternative because of his good start to the season in the Bundesliga, and because the Reds may eventually lose Mohamed Salah. Affording Sane for half of what they could sell a 31-year-old Salah for wouldn’t be an issue because he is a like-for-like replacement for the Egyptian King and Saudi Arabia’s Pro League offered a nine-figure fee for Salah late in the summer transfer window.
Sane, according to BILD, also wants Bayern to be transparent about their intentions for him this season, either by offering him a new contract or by selling him. Sane has previously acknowledged that he was on the verge of joining Liverpool and has said he is inspired by the job that Klopp has accomplished at Anfield since joining from the Bundesliga.
