McLaren star’s switch confirmed as NEW 2025 signing announced
McLaren has confirmed significant changes for 2025, with several of its drivers transitioning to new opportunities.
The team recently celebrated its first Constructors’ Championship since 1998, led by Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri.
Despite their success, Norris expressed frustration over his inability to challenge Max Verstappen for the Drivers’ Championship.
Both Norris and Piastri aim to secure their first title in 2025.
In the junior ranks, McLaren’s Ugo Ugochukwu and Brando Badoer are moving up to Formula 3, while Ella Lloyd will compete in the all-female F1 Academy series.
Meanwhile, Bianca Bustamante, a standout in F1 Academy, is taking a major step forward in her career.
The 19-year-old Bustamante has spent two seasons in F1 Academy, achieving two race wins and five podium finishes.
Her progression to the GB3 Championship was officially announced, marking the next phase in her pursuit of a Formula 1 career.
The F1 Academy confirmed that its championship winner would earn a fully-funded GB3 seat with Rodin Motorsport in 2025, a prize awarded to Abbi Pulling, the 2024 champion.
Bustamante, however, will race for Elite Motorsport in GB3, joining a field that saw Louis Sharp crowned champion in 2024.
This move places her on the pathway to higher categories, with Formula 3 as her next target.
Bustamante’s promotion highlights McLaren’s commitment to nurturing young talent across various racing disciplines.
