FIA Confirms Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton to Start Race with Double P…read more

The FIA has officially confirmed that Lewis Hamilton, now driving for Ferrari, will start the upcoming Grand Prix with a double penalty after a series of infractions during the previous race weekend. The decision comes following investigations into Hamilton’s actions during qualifying and the sprint session.

Hamilton, who joined Ferrari this season after a legendary career with Mercedes, was handed a five-place grid penalty for impeding another driver during qualifying. In addition to that, the FIA has imposed a 10-second time penalty to be served during the race for exceeding track limits multiple times under warning.

Ferrari issued a brief statement expressing disappointment but affirmed full support for their seven-time world champion. “We accept the FIA’s decision, although we believe circumstances could have been considered differently. Lewis will be giving everything on Sunday,” the statement read.

The penalties come as Ferrari continues to fight for the championship against Red Bull and McLaren, making Hamilton’s task significantly harder as he battles from mid-grid.

Despite the setback, Hamilton remains defiant. Speaking after the announcement, he said, “It’s frustrating, of course, but I’ve been here before. We fight on.”

More updates to follow as the paddock prepares for Sunday’s race.
