Netflix has announced a documentary on Black Sabbath, set for a March 2025 release. The film will explore the band’s journey from their 1968 beginnings in Birmingham to becoming heavy metal pioneers. Featuring rare footage, new interviews with band members like Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler, and insights from artists inspired by them, the documentary promises to celebrate the band’s enduring legacy.

Ozzy Osbourne is expected to share personal stories, including his departure and eventual reunion with the band. With its unique perspective, the film aims to attract both lifelong fans and newcomers curious about Black Sabbath’s influence.

In other news, Tony Iommi recently released an instrumental track, “Deified,” alongside an animated music video. The track accompanies the launch of his new fragrance, also titled “Deified,” made in collaboration with Italian brand Xerjoff. Iommi described the piece as heavier and darker than his previous single, “Scent of Dark.”

Additionally, Iommi attended the launch of Black Sabbath – The Ballet in Birmingham, which pairs the band’s music with ballet. This production, created by the Birmingham Royal Ballet, is set to premiere in September 2024 and offers fans a fresh way to experience the band’s iconic songs.
