Never-ending Texas Ranger Adrian Beltre
Adrian Beltre will be permanently recognized as a Texas Ranger, according to the National Baseball Hall of Fame. His plaque will display a Rangers cap, making him the third Hall of Famer to do so after Nolan “The Ryan Express” and Ivan “Pudge” Rodriguez. Before settling down in Arlington, Beltre played for the Boston Red Sox, Seattle Mariners, and Los Angeles Dodgers. He spent seven years with the Dodgers, five years with the Mariners, one year with the Boston Red Sox, and the final eight with the Rangers.
He had 1,524 runs, 3,166 hits, 636 doubles, 38 triples, 477 home runs, 1,707 RBIs, 121 stolen bases, 848 walks, and a.286/.339/.480 line in his 21-year Major League career.
In order to hold a press conference about his Road to Cooperstown, Beltre stopped by Globe Life Field. Former teammates Ivan “Pudge” Rodriguez of the Rangers and Elvis Andrus, also known as “little brother,” welcomed him to the Hall of Fame. Beltre displayed his humorous side during that news conference by making jokes with reporters as he talked about his stint with the Rangers.
