Plans for Arsenal’s midfield makeover during the January transfer window

With Juventus apparently interested in Thomas Partey and the Gunners want to bolster their roster, it is said that Arsenal is considering making major midfield changes as they prepare for the January transfer window.

According to reports, Arsenal is getting ready for a big midfield movement during the upcoming January transfer window.

Amidst these intentions, Sky Italia and journalist Gianluca di Marzio report that Juventus has expressed interest in signing Thomas Partey of Arsenal, hoping, as usual, for a lower price.

Partey is on Juventus’ wish list as they look to bolster their midfield and think a favorable deal can be struck. A story from Il Bianconero, which claims that Giovanni Manna and Cristiano Giuntoli of Juventus are keeping a watch on the player, supports this desire even further.

There are obstacles, most notably Partey’s involvement in the African Cup of Nations and Arsenal’s vague requests for the player, despite the transaction appearing to be enticing to Juventus and the Italian media.

Put differently, Arsenal is seeking a fair price.

Arsenal is rumored to be actively looking to bolster their midfield as well.

According to reports, the team is considering making a large £52 million offer for Martin Zubimendi of Real Sociedad, who has performed well in his first Champions League season.

Arsenal has the option to exercise the £52 million release clause in Zubimendi’s contract, which is valid until 2027.

In addition, Arsenal’s interest in Brazilian midfielder Douglas Luiz of Aston Villa has rekindled.

Arsenal has been keeping an eye on the 25-year-old for a while now, and his recent performance—five goals and one assist in 12 Premier League games this season—has only increased the Gunners’ curiosity.

Luiz had previously made an attempt to sign with Arsenal before he signed a new contract with Villa.

The potential departure of Partey to Juventus could fund these new acquisitions.

Partey‘s tenure at Arsenal has been marred by injury issues, including a recent thigh injury that will sideline him for the remainder of the calendar year.

Since joining Arsenal, he has continued to experience injuries, which has forced the team to eventually look into other options.
