Red Bull chief hits out at ‘NONSENSE’ Perez reports
Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko has addressed growing speculation surrounding Sergio Perez’s future with the Formula 1 team.
Despite driving the dominant RB20, Perez could only secure eighth place in the drivers’ championship, while his teammate Max Verstappen claimed the title.
This performance also contributed to Red Bull missing out on the constructors’ championship, sparking questions about Perez’s place in the team.
Following the season finale in Abu Dhabi, Marko confirmed that Red Bull’s leadership would hold internal discussions to decide on their driver lineup for the 2025 season.
Perez, who joined the team in 2021, has faced mounting pressure due to inconsistent results.
His last race win came at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in April 2023.
Although the Mexican driver signed a contract extension at the start of the 2024 season, which keeps him with Red Bull until 2026, rumors about his future have intensified, particularly after the team’s recent struggles.
