Unai Emery Extends Aston Villa Contract

On Tuesday, Aston Villa announced that manager Unai Emery has signed a contract extension until 2027. Emery’s tenure at Villa Park has been commendable, as he inherited the team during a relegation battle when he succeeded Steven Gerrard in November 2022, and has since propelled them to the verge of Champions League qualification.

Currently, the Birmingham-based club occupies the fourth position in the Premier League standings, maintaining a six-point lead over fifth-placed Tottenham, who have two games in hand. Additionally, Villa has advanced to the semi-finals of the Europa Conference League, where they are set to encounter Olympiakos in pursuit of their first European trophy since their triumph as European champions in 1982.
