In honor of the 50-year-old actor from The Office, Ewen MacIntosh, Ricky Gervais and Miranda Hart have led tributes.
Ed Scott, a close friend of MacIntosh, verified the news of his passing in a post that said, “I am completely devastated by the loss of my very good friend Ewen MacIntosh.”
“Although he may have been well-known to millions as Keith from The Office, what I will remember most about him is the person inside.”
The Slough division of a fictional paper firm is the setting for the British sitcom, which was devised, written, and produced by Gervais and Stephen Merchant. It centers on the lives of its office workers.
In his homage to MacIntosh, Gervais referred to his co-star as “an absolute original.”

Hart, who costarred with MacIntosh in a single episode on her television series Miranda, wrote on Instagram: “We were the same age and crossed paths as we tried our hardest to be funny and make a living out of it.”
