On Wednesday, the Fever held a press conference at Gainbridge Fieldhouse to introduce Clark alongside General Manager Lin Dunn and head coach Christie Sides.
Clark expressed her excitement about playing basketball in Indiana at the press conference’s outset.
“After I got drafted, I mentioned that I couldn’t imagine a better place to start my career — a place that adores basketball, champions women’s basketball, and an organization that operates with integrity,” said Clark.
Clark’s enthusiasm for her move to Indiana was palpable, citing the Fever’s top pick as a significant factor in her decision to enter the draft.
“It certainly played a major role,” Clark acknowledged. “I was hoping Indiana would secure the first pick… so when I learned about it, I was thrilled.”
However, the Fever’s draft position wasn’t the sole factor influencing her decision.
“I was ready for a new challenge and something fresh in my life,” Clark explained. “Being only five to seven hours away from where I grew up, you really couldn’t ask for a better scenario.”
