sad news for the longhorns: he is back…
Steve Sarkisian believes that the Texas Longhorns must enhance their performance in these three key areas.
After the Texas Longhorns’ bye week, head coach Steve Sarkisian had the opportunity to reflect on the necessary improvements for the team moving forward, particularly ahead of their upcoming matchup against the Houston Cougars on Saturday.
Sarkisian highlighted that the Longhorns are currently struggling in special teams, but he delved deeper into the underlying issues.
“I believe we can elevate our performance on special teams even further,” Sarkisian stated. “We’re consistently pushing our players, but to do so effectively, we need to push our coaching staff as well. It’s imperative for our staff to continue working towards improvement in these areas.”
However, deficiencies in special teams are not the only concerns for the Longhorns.
Sarkisian also noted that while he’s pleased with the defensive effort displayed by the Longhorns, he’s disappointed with the turnover statistics and the team’s attempts to force turnovers from the opponent’s offense.
