SAD NEWS FOR THE STEELERS: Mike Tomlin has agreed to terms with the….
Mike Tomlin is set to return, but significant alterations are expected for the Steelers’ offense in 2024.
Mike Tomlin has put an end to speculations surrounding his future with the Pittsburgh Steelers. During his end-of-season press conference on Thursday, the coach dismissed rumors suggesting he might take a hiatus from coaching in 2024. With Tomlin entering his 18th season, he becomes the NFL’s longest-serving head coach with the same team after Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots recently parted ways following 24 years.
Although Tomlin’s contract is set to expire after the 2024 season, he has never started a season in the final year of his contract. However, he expresses confidence that he and team president Art Rooney II will resolve any contractual matters.
“I fully anticipate my return,” Tomlin affirmed. “Contract negotiations will unfold in due course. Art and I maintain an open, transparent relationship, and we have ongoing communication. I don’t foresee any issues, and I believe an agreement will be reached in a timely manner when the time is right. My focus remains on coaching this football team.”
