AP SAN FRANCISCO — On Saturday, Alex Cobb led the San Francisco Giants to a 4-1 victory that extended the Milwaukee Brewers’ losing streak to six games. Willie Mays was present as the team celebrated his 92nd birthday.

Thairo Estrada hit a home run, while Brett Wisely, a rookie infielder, also scored his first major league home run. An RBI double was provided by Joey Bart.

Milwaukee is now experiencing its longest losing run since an eight-game losing streak from June 3–11.

Mays, a 1951–1972 Giants player, was in attendance for a short while.
During the fourth inning of a baseball game in San Francisco on Saturday, San Francisco Giants pitcher Alexander Cobb waits on the mound while Milwaukee Brewers manager Craig Counsell, middle, gestures after getting dismissed by umpire Chris Guccione, left.

It is been yearly custom for Oracle Park public address announcer Renel Brooks-Moon to lead a singing of “Happy Birthday” to the Hall of Famer.

Mays departed the game before it was over.

In his first victory over the Brewers since 2014, Cobb (2-1) gave up five hits in seven innings while striking out five and walking two. This resulted in a 2.01 ERA.

San Francisco’s inconsistent start has included four straight victories. The Giants dropped their next four games prior to their current winning streak after winning a season-high five straight from April 22–26.
