The international horror show will help Everton’s star.
Chris Beesley asserts that Everton midfielder Amadou Onana will gain from receiving a week’s rest before to the Merseyside Derby after Belgium’s 3-2 European Championships qualifying victory over Albania.
The Liverpool Echo journalist argued that this offered consolation for his bad performance while serving his country and might have allayed Everton’s concerns about the performance.
Onana will now miss the Red Devils’ upcoming match against Sweden on October 16 but will be well-rested for the Anfield match after receiving a red card for two bookable offenses.
On October 14, Beesley stated in his column for the Liverpool Echo that Amadou Onana was appearing to be a lucky boy for the second time in a week with a potentially positive outcome from a negative situation and Belgium’s loss can be Everton’s gain.
Such discipline slip-ups are a result of the 22-year-old’s steep learning curve. Before joining Goodison Park for £33.5 million in August 2022, he had only participated in 32 matches in the top tier.
Onana will now face a one-match ban for Belgium’s upcoming meeting against Sweden at home on Monday.
However, there is always a bright side, and from the perspective of the Blues, Onana can now take more than a week off before the 243rd Merseyside Derby at Anfield on Saturday, October 21.
Hopefully, Onana’s performance will now improve as a result of the firing. In order to make sure he atones for his mistake, he might work harder and put in more effort while wearing an Everton shirt because he will be determined not to let his team down again.
