The packers qb and coach feel bad for the farewell annoucement of the strong player….
Former All-Star Player Hired as Assistant NFL Head Coach by the Green Bay Packers.
The Green Bay Packers boast several former players who now serve as assistant coaches, media figures, or athletic trainers throughout the league. However, one former player has recently received a significant promotion.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport’s tweet, Al Harris has been elevated to the position of assistant head coach and defensive backs coach. Harris, aged 49, previously oversaw the defensive backs for the Dallas Cowboys since 2020, where he played a role in developing players like Trevon Diggs and Da’Ron Bland.
Harris shares a longstanding connection with Mike McCarthy, dating back to McCarthy’s early tenure as an NFL head coach. They collaborated with the Packers from 2006 through 2010. Their partnership will continue as they work closely together to further enhance the Cowboys’ impressive secondary.
Following Dan Quinn’s departure for a head coaching role with the Washington Commanders, the Cowboys will look to their secondary to generate turnovers under a new defensive coordinator. The defensive backs will face significant tests under the guidance of veteran coach Mike Zimmer and his quarters coverage scheme.
