Journalist Alan Nixon stated that Everton is in the lead in the competition for Perth Glory prodigy James Overy in a recent Patreon post. The Australian defender is reportedly someone the Toffees are considering hiring in the future.

With his defensive end of the field performances for Perth Glory’s Under-21 team, Overy has drawn attention. The young Austrian has done well to make a name for himself as one of the most promising prospects in his native country.

Against West Ham United in a preseason friendly last summer, the gifted youngster made an impression. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that Everton is expressing interest in hiring him in the future.

The 15-year-old has advanced through Perth Glory’s junior system, but he hasn’t yet established himself as a regular starter in the Australian team’s first squad.

On the defensive side of the ball, Overy can read the threat and make a strong tackle to return control to his team. When the opposition is on the front foot, he typically puts his foot through the ball. He can also make a few quick sprints with the ball on the right side.

Even in the opposition’s half, the Austrian talent can set up a few good plays for his teammates. But at 15, he’s still a raw player, so it will take some time before he can experience playing football on the first squad at the top level.

Taking everything into account, the Toffees should concentrate on giving it their all to win the competition for the Perth Glory whizkid when the transfer market opens at the beginning of January or at the conclusion of this season.
