NFL Draft Insider Mel Kiper Jr.’s most recent mock draft is out, and he includes several Georgia players in the first round. Positional needs for teams choosing in the first round of the new NFL Draft are becoming more apparent as NFL free agency winds down and we get a better look at the composition of rosters. That provides former Georgia players like Brock Bowers and Amarius Mims with a clearer understanding of possible landing destinations as they prepare for the draft. A number of former Bulldogs will compete in the first round, according to ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr.
According to Kiper, Bowers will go alongside Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets at the tenth spot. He would immediately improve an offensive that is in dire need of it. Regarding Amarius Mims, Kiper projects the large tackle to join the Baltimore Ravens at the 30th pick in order to assist in protecting Lamar Jackson. Mims would move to Baltimore to join Bulldogs Roquan Smith, Nick Moore, and Ben Cleveland.
Some Georgia supporters will be conflicted about another former Bulldog who Kiper projects to be in the top 32. Kiper projects Kansas City to take Texas receiver Adonai Mitchell at No. 32.
