‘unacceptable’-Neil Lennon calls for investigation after what Clement said about….
The analyst said on Monday, March 18, on PLZ Soccer that Philippe Clement brought up some important points regarding the effect it had on his Gers team as they arrived at Dens Park prior to the game’s eventual cancellation.
Lennon continued, saying that as long as Scottish football has the tools to make sure instances like this don’t happen, there should be an investigation into the matter and an explanation of what happened given.
Lennon stated, “I think it’s unacceptable that a Premier League game has to be canceled in 2024 due to a waterlogged pitch.”
“Philippe brought up some important points. . It is insufficient.
“This needs to be looked into, and the reasons for it should be explained. He is accurate. We certainly get a lot of rain here, in Scotland of all places, but we should have the means by now to handle it.
Lennon’s support for the Rangers in this issue demonstrates how poorly the decision to postpone the game was made.
The players from the Gers, together with a large number of supporters, had no justification for traveling to Dundee before the referee declared the field unfit for play.
Even while it appears that Dens Park staff did everything within their power to make sure the match could go, the authorities should investigate what went wrong and make sure that adjustments are made for subsequent games.
For Clement and his team, not being able to play the game and try to achieve a spot back at the top of the SPL table was extremely upsetting.
However, they will have that chance once the game is rescheduled, and by then, they might have a few more players available.
