Unbelievable: Player banned for criticizing Messi—how ridiculous
Despite Inter Miami head coach Tata Martino’s suggestion that Lionel Messi’s ailment is not serious, Messi will miss Argentina’s two friendlies.
Messi was replaced in the 50th minute of last week’s Concacaf Champions Cup match against Nashville SC.
Following Inter Miami’s 3-1 triumph, manager Tata Martino made an effort to allay concerns about his star player by stating that Messi was substituted due to “a muscle overload in his right leg.”
Martino commented: “We tried to make him continue but he told us he wasn’t feeling well, so he was substituted as a precaution.
” But the damage turned out to be more serious than first believed. In Miami’s 3-1 victory over D.C. United on Saturday,
Messi was not available. Martino stated before the game that they would “play it safe.”
“Messi’s injury must be dealt with week by week, and we will evaluate it,” he stated.
We’ll keep an eye on what he’s doing.
His arrival is intended to enable him to participate in the Concacaf Champions Cup quarterfinals. We wish to avoid taking a chance.
Argentina also doesn’t seem to want to push Messi while he’s not fully recovered.
During the international break, the 36-year-old will miss the friendly against Costa Rica and El Salvador, the country’s association stated on Monday.
The announcement read: “The captain of Argentina Lionel Messi, will not be able to be in the squad for the friendlies in USA due to a minor injury to the hamstring of his right leg suffered in his team’s Inter Miami’s match against Nashville SC.”
Messi was originally scheduled to participate in two friendly,
one at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on March 26 and the other at Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field on March 22.
ESPN reports that he may still see the world champions this week and receive treatment from Argentina’s medical team as part of his recuperation.
