Laurent Brossoit made 24 saves to secure his third shutout, as the Winnipeg Jets defeated the Dallas Stars 3-0 on Thursday night. David Gustafsson celebrated his 24th birthday by scoring a goal. This victory marked the Jets’ fifth consecutive win, following a six-game winless streak, and prevented the Stars from clinching the Central Division title.

The win also halted Dallas’ season sweep over Winnipeg, and the Jets tied Colorado for second place with 104 points, trailing the Stars by five. Dallas has two games left in the season, while both the Jets and Avalanche have three. Winnipeg holds the tiebreaker advantage over Colorado due to a 2-0 season series lead, heading into their final matchup in Denver on Saturday.

Nikolaj Ehlers broke the deadlock with an unassisted goal, his 24th of the season, late in the first period. Gustafsson added another goal midway through the second period, and Mark Scheifele sealed the victory with an empty-net goal, his 25th of the season.
