FIA Confirms Major Monaco Grand Prix Rule Change with Mandatory Two P…read more 

The Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) has announced a significant regulation change for the 2025 Monaco Grand Prix, introducing a mandatory two-stop strategy for all drivers. This decision aims to enhance the racing spectacle at the iconic Monte Carlo circuit, known for its challenging layout and limited overtaking opportunities.

Under the new rule, each driver must make at least two pit stops during the race, regardless of weather conditions. Additionally, in dry conditions, competitors are required to use a minimum of two different tyre compounds, utilizing at least three sets of tyres throughout the event. This change is designed to encourage varied race strategies and increase on-track action.

The move comes in response to criticism of recent Monaco Grands Prix, where processional races have diminished excitement for fans. Notably, the 2024 edition saw minimal pit stops and overtaking, prompting calls for regulatory adjustments to invigorate the event.
